What's My Niche?
1) What do you consider to be your medium, style, and services of choice? Describe why you feel that is the case.
I consider my medium of choice to be print but I do enjoy working with motion and designing interactive aspects of a job as well. My style of work is typically colorful, textured and bold, but can be minimal and clean depending on the specs of jobs needs and purpose. My services of choice are branding related which involve finding a distinct identity for the product or service.
2) Conduct some research and identify and target potential clients and partners you hope to work with in the future. Provide links and write a few details about why you choose those individuals, companies, etc.
These companies are the types of companies I would like to work for,
Thank you studios - visited during study abroad and became really infatuated with their studios and approach for design.
Stupid Studios - another design and branding company that I enjoyed, I really liked their style and felt like this was a place as a designer I would fit in after reviewing their work. 3) What common frustrations or needs do your services or products address? How does your business solve a problem or find a solution for your customers? In particular, do you solve problems that nobody else can? Through your research create a list of the kinds of problems you are most interested in addressing after you graduate with some details as to why that is the case with both skills and interest point-of-view.
Frustrations and needs addressed are finding adequate ways of communication, and areas of opportunity in existing designs through research with client/consumers. 4) Conduct a bit of secondary research to see just how competitive your chosen market is. Create a list of links with short sentences describing how competitors are approaching their niche to address the kinds of problems that interest you.
